Each of my paintings holds personal meaning--from my own experiences or from those who commission me to create an image that's important to them. I strive to paint not only in a representational fashion, but to capture the emotion or character of a person or a scene.
My interest in art was nurtured in my childhood, having grown up in a family of creative people--artists and musicians alike. I later studied painting during my college years, but pursued a career in publishing art magazines, most notably as publisher of The Artist's Magazine, which grew to the nation's leading art instruction publication. Other art magazines I published included Watercolor Magic, Decorative Artist's Workbook, HOW, and I.D. I also served as executive officer of North Light Art School, providing one-to-one art instruction to thousands of students throughout the nation.
After retiring from a successful 40-plus year career as a media executive, I now devote my energy to producing heirloom artwork in my Westminster, Colorado studio.
